What obstacles do you think people your age may have to overcome which were not in your parent’s generation?
I believe there at least two obstacles that my generation would have that our parents wouldn’t of had such as distractions, due to the increase in technology and massive increase in mass media. For example all the new captivating T.V shows Like LOST, and STARGATE SG1, Face book, Twitter etc. In The 21st century many distractions have arisen that most definitely cause students to deviate from their Work and loose focus on their Academics, like playing Video games (Modern Warfare 2). These are some of the most particular distraction that is an obstacle our parents did not have to face in their lives growing up. Another obstacle that was not present in our parents generation was the ‘competition’, for the most part, if you worked hard enough to get somewhere and persevered you would prevail, where as today, you might reach your goal but after, fighting for it over many other people who want it just as bad as you do, making it harder because of fighting for positions. For example the field of medicine, there are many people considering and entering that field, if you go into that field, most likely everyone else will be battling with you to get that position. Certain fields, not necessarily ‘medicine’ would have been what you would call an Empty field.
Has Science gone to far? Yes, Science has been going for quite some time now in regards to many things in different fields of science. Science has used its theories and its quote on quote “Flawless lab work” to determine and quantify the things of creation. Science can’t even explain a Thought. It uses electricity and magnetism but has never determined why they exist much less understand either one. Some people may try to backup the biddings of science today by saying, “Well who is to say that what we are doing as wrong” as if to say there is no God. God is the creator of the Sciences, and yet scientist, sadly, leave god entirely out of the picture.
Firstly Science has gone to far because,’ scientist have tampered to much with the original state of nature and life/creation such as cloning for an example. It is not safe to say that science is merely human philosophical premise, because again God is the creator of the Science and the universe. Moreover I continue to say that cloning has gone to far, trying to clone humans and other organism manually, in my opinion is way to far. Cloning is to be left for the cell to naturally replicate itself, for as far as I am concerned, cloning humans 100 % and possibly animals will lead to a complete disaster. In conclusion the approach of manually trying to clone organisms including human is too vague immoral and should be permanently banned.
Another reason why I am enticed to say that science has gone to far is because of certain medical approaches, drugs, surgeries, and medicines in trying to sustain life, such as the heart transplant or even the Brain transplant in the Book “Mirror Image” given to Alice. The fact of having the brain of another human being inside of your head due to medical advances is simply to far, even if it is considered to potentially be saving memories, and what not. If someone was in the wrong place at the wrong time, well your fate is your fate; Science should not be trying to advance around and above these things. Moreover on the grounds of medicine and so-called ‘helpful drugs’, society should be trying to stick to the most natural and healthy way of medicine. To the best of my knowledge every single type of drug has a side effect, which is more than likely to have damaging aspects, and is not beneficial in the long run, eventually adding up if used consistently. So in conclusion I deem it fit to say that scientist should stick to discovering the good, accurate aspects of life and not try to create principles & theories that often seem to contradict themselves.
The finally reason as to why I think science has gone to far is because it is becoming what you would call- its-own-religion. Scientist and the students (anyone that studies/follows) base the Darwinian theory of evolution as the foundations of science. The same Darwin that came with a theory that suggested that the black race was inferior Evolution can be proven to be flawed and full of errors just by the accruing prophecies and Non-fiction stories; yes true stories. Even the little, Organized No brained termite had Darwin postpone one his books for years, because of how sophisticated and organized they were. Termites, being Able to communicate and build massive structures, being so self sacrificial to the colony and its population so organized that their lifestyle in certain perspectives are more advanced than us Humans. The Termite is an insect that in my most honest opinion contradicts evolution and the evolutionary process. However that is enough talk on one of the most contribution people to science. Science today has Generally gone to far because of how it tampers too much with Natural things, and the creation of God. Thus in conclusion the Providence of God should not be challenged, To be a Scientist and to not believe in a higher being (God), is unwise, arrogant and serves as being wilfully blind, and so quite frankly with all the evidence of the nature and the marvels of the Universe, a scientist would have to be what u would call and educated fool to think that the universe just came into existence by chance, Nothing + Nothing + Time + Time=everything.
